Facebook was the top search term for third straight year

Experian® Hitwise®, a part of Experian Marketing Services, has analyzed the top 1,000 search terms for 2011 , and Facebook was the top-searched term overall in the US. This is the third year that the social networking Website has been the top search term overall, accounting for 3.10 percent of all searches, a 46 percent increase from 2010. Four variations of the term “facebook” were among the top 10 terms and accounted for 4.42 percent of searches overall, a 24 percent increase from 2010.

Experian® Hitwise®, a part of Experian Marketing Services, announced today that Google accounted for 65.38 percent of all U.S. searches conducted in the four weeks ending Oct. 29, 2011. The combined Bing-powered search comprised 28.62 percent of searches for the month, with Yahoo! Search and Bing receiving 15.39 percent and 13.23 percent, respectively. The remaining 66 search engines in the Hitwise Search Engine Analysis report accounted for 6 percent of U.S. searches.

Experian Hitwise announced today that Google accounted for 66.12 percent of all U.S. searches conducted in the four weeks ending Oct. 1, 2011. The combined Bing-powered search comprised 28.07 percent of searches for the month, with Yahoo! Search and Bing receiving 15.27 percent and 12.80 percent, respectively. The remaining 66 search engines in the Hitwise Search Engine Analysis report accounted for 5.81 percent of U.S. searches.

Experian® Hitwise®, a part of Experian Marketing Services, announced today that Google accounted for 65.09 percent of all U.S. searches conducted in the four weeks ending August 27, 2011. The combined Bing-powered search comprised 28.99 percent of searches for the month, with Yahoo! Search and Bing receiving 15.89 percent and 13.10 percent, respectively. The remaining 64 search engines in the Hitwise Search Engine Analysis report accounted for 5.92 percent of U.S. searches.

Experian® Hitwise®, a part of Experian Marketing Services, announced today that Google accounted for 66.05 percent of all U.S. searches conducted in the four weeks ending July 30, 2011. The combined Bing-powered search comprised 28.05 percent of searches for the month, with Yahoo! Search and Bing receiving 14.49 percent and 13.19 percent, respectively. The remaining 73 search engines in the Hitwise Search Engine Analysis report accounted for 5.90 percent of U.S. searches.

Experian and Adobe expand partnership to include Hitwise and Adobe SiteCatalyst data exchange
