The 58 percent was the highest among all social networking sites sites, as U.S. visits to Facebook increased 194 percent in September 2009 compared with September 2008. MySpace received the second-highest market share of U.S. visits for the month, with 30 percent.

The industry has experienced positive month-to-month growth in share of U.S. visits in all but one month in the past three years. As the state of the U.S. economy has worsened, visits to Classifieds Web sites have continued to climb, up 28 percent from December 2008 to February 2009.
