The introduction of iCoke Hong Kong proves popular

iCoke Hong Kong (www.icoke.hk), is a new promotional website where the user can redeem points from Coca-Cola bottles to purchase Adidas accessories and Lineage II, an online game. Visitors to the site can also create a personal space and chat with other users or friends. iCoke Hong Kong introduced its presence as the top ranking site for the Food and Beverage - Brands and Manufacturers category in mid-October.

iCoke Hong Kong received a 13.48% market share in the Food and Beverage - Brands and Manufacturers category for the week ending October 15, 2005, surpassing McDonalds Worldwide, KFC, Pepsi World and the official worldwide Coca-Cola site.

The top 20 Food and Beverage - Brands and Manufactures websites mostly consist of the worldwide sites for well-known franchises, as well as the local Hong Kong sites for McDonalds, Pizza Hut, KFC and Starbucks. There are also some food brand sites such as the local Hong Kong site for Lee Kum Kee, the manufacturer of cooking sauces, and Nissin Foods, a manufacturer of noodles.

www.eng-class.com has jumped 1,070 places to take the 185th position among all sites visited by Hong Kong Internet users in the week ending 15/10/2005. The site moved up 52 places to rank 13 in the Education parent category. This follows on from a similarly large improvement for the week ending 01/10/2005 when the website jumped 414 spots to rank 745 in all categories.

As Eng-class.com is a membership based English studying platform for Hong Kong students, and most Hong Kong schools have English assessments scheduled for around the 25th October, it's not surprising to see the jump in popularity. The site provides students with exercises tailored to suit their different learning abilities, covering a range from Primary 1 to Secondary 7.

While the Hitwise Clickstream data for www.eng-class.com is dominated by Yahoo! Hong Kong, which is the top site in upstream and downstream rankings, other education sites also rank prominently. Pro-ho (www.prof-ho.com) and HK-reading.com (www.hk-reading.com) occupy 2nd and 3rd place in upstream and downstream rankings in September 2005. Both are education sites focused on providing students with updated information on resources.
