G2000 Shines in Spring Sales

With Spring Sales engaging shoppers in Hong Kong, Internet users are going online to do some research before they hit the streets.

G2000 (
www.g2000.com.hk), a popular retail chain, is currently advertising an end of season Spring special sale, that saw traffic to the retailer's website increase its market share by more than 200% from the week ending April 1, 2006 to the week ending April 8, 2006 in the Apparel & Accessories category. Another popular Apparel & Accessories website for the same period was Levis Jeans HK (www.leviej.com.hk). This site recorded a boost in the Apparel & Accessories by more than 100%.

For the week ending April 8, 2006, G2000 (www.g2000.com.hk) climbed to rank 7th in the Lifestyle - Fashion category with a market share of 3.02%; and 5th in Shopping and Classifieds - Apparel and Accessories, with a market share of 2.52%. Louis Vuitton (www.vuitton.com), A Bathing Ape (www.bape.com) and Gucci (www.gucci.com) were other competing websites in the fashion category.

Amongst local Hong Kong websites, G2000 ranked 3rd in Apparel & Accessories and 3rd in Lifestyle - Fashion. Local Hong Kong websites only accounted for 26.9% of traffic to all sites visited by Hong Kong Internet users in the Shopping and Classifieds - Apparel & Accessories category.

Hong Kong Sevens 2006 (www.hksevens.com.hk) climbed 11,927 places to rank 644 among all sites visited by Hong Kong Internet users for the week ending April 8, 2006; while it moved up 1,838 places to rank 76th in the Sports parent category during the same week. Hong Kong Sevens 2006 remained the top site in Sports - Rugby category with a commanding 33.23% market share, followed by IRB World Sevens Series - 14.11%, and Hong Kong Rugby Football Union which accounted for 7.14% market share.

The website of the annual Hong Kong rugby tournament provides a history of the competition, schedule of games, results, news and ticketing information. The intense interest in this year's Cathay Pacific/Credit Suisse Hong Kong Sevens 2006 has seen all 40,000 tickets for the event, (held at the Hong Kong Stadium from march 31 to April 2, 2006), sold out a month before the tournament.

At the peak of website traffic to Hong Kong Sevens 2006 for the week ending April 8, 2006, Hitwise Clickstream data showed a number of search engines in the upstream traffic to Hong Kong Sevens, including, Google (10.88%), and Google Hong Kong (8.81%).
