eBay Hong Kong has experienced a market share increase of 115% in the Shopping & Classifieds - Auctions industry in the past 15 months. Hitwise Hong Kong reported that the website's market share at the end of March 2006 was 3.36%, compared with the most recent data which reports that www.ebay.com.hk's market share as of May 2007 is 7.23%.
At its highest point between January and March 2007, eBay Hong Kong reached 8.77% of the Shopping & Classifieds - Auctions industry's market share. During that period, the top three websites being visited by Hong Kong Internet users before and after www.ebay.com.hk were eBay (www.ebay.com), Yahoo! Auctions Hong Kong (hk.auctions.yahoo.com) and Yahoo! Hong Kong Search (search.hk.yahoo.com).
The current data shows that this trend is continuing, with the exception of SendSpace (www.sendspace.com) climbing up to become the fifth most-visited website before eBay Hong Kong for the week ending 02/06/2007.
The Apple iPhone website (www.apple.com/iphone), which features details of the soon to be released all-in-one device, experienced an increase in market share of 260% in the last week, according to the data for the week ending 09/06/07.
