Charles & Keith well heeled thanks to end-of-season season discounts

Charles & Keith (www.charleskeith.com) have combined an exclusive online discount offer with their end-of-season sale in Singapore. The promotion saw traffic to the shoe brand and retailer's website more than triple between early October and early November. Charles & Keith lifted its share of traffic to Apparel and Accessories websites to 2.4% for the week ending November 5, up from 0.67% for the week ending October 8. Against other fashion brands, tracked in the Hitwise's Lifestyle - Fashion category, Charles & Keith held a 4.56% share of traffic for the week ending November 5, up from 1.45% for the week ending October 8.

For the week ending November 5, Charles & Keith climbed to a rank of 4th in Apparel and Accessories; and 3rd in Lifestyle - Fashion, to sit between 2nd ranked Louis Vuitton (www.vuitton.com) and 4th ranked Gucci (www.gucci.com). Amongst local Singapore websites it ranked 2nd in Apparel and Accessories and 1st in Lifestyle - Fashion. Local Singapore sites only account for 29.5% of traffic to all sites visited by Singapore Internet users in the Apparel and Accessories category.

Hitwise Clickstream statistics show that Yahoo! Search (search.yahoo.com) was the single largest referrer of traffic to Charles & Keith for the week ending November 5. Yahoo! Search referred 8.42% of all visits that week. Hitwise Search Terms reflect strong brand recognition among Singapore Internet users. The top three searched-for terms resulting in traffic to Charles & Keith were 'charles and keith' (26.49%), 'charles & keith' (19.51%), and 'charles and keith shoes singapore' (6.78%).

Hitwise Industry Clickstream statistics show that Search Engines and Directories referred a total of 12.63% of traffic to Charles & Keith for the week ending November 5. Email Services websites were the most significant upstream category, referring 41.05% of all traffic that week, and suggesting Charles & Keith is receiving a significant amount of click throughs from its E-boutique club member promotional mailings. Visitors spent an average of 3 minutes 38 seconds browsing the Charles & Keith website that week.

The basketball action has tipped off for another year in America's premier league - the NBA, and Singapore's Internet users are heading for www.nba.com for the latest news, results and statistics. The official website NBA.com offers basketball fans real-time results from games, feature articles, exclusive interviews and online shopping.

NBA.com was the 251st most popular site in the first week of November, rising from 358th position in the last week of October, and 406th in the week ending October 22. For the week ending November 5, NBA.com is the 18th most popular Sports website according to Internet users in Singapore, while in daily rankings it rose to claim 10th position on the 8th and 9th of November, just below Liverpoolfc.tv (www.liverpoolfc.tv) the official site of the famous Liverpool Football Club.

A range of sports sites feature in the clickstream of NBA.com, with ESPN Soccernet (www.soccernet.com) ranking 1st in sites visited before NBA.com, and ESPN (www.espn.com) claiming 1st in sites visited afterwards. Interestingly, HoustonChronicle.com (www.chron.com) ranked 4th in sites visited after NBA.com, most likely due to their coverage of Chinese All-Star Yao Ming.

The most popular terms typed into a search engine that resulted in traffic to the NBA.com website included 'nba' at 1st, 'nba.com' at 2nd and 'www.nba.com' at 3rd position. While, 'michael jordan' appeared at 6th, 'lakers' claimed 8th place, and 'kobe byrant' occupied 13th position.

Category Spotlight: Computers and Internet - Hardware

The Hardware category lists all manufacturers of hardware and peripheral computer components as well as sites that offer news, technical information and reviews. The data below is based on Weekly rankings for the week ending 26/11/2005 » Ranks by 'Visits'.
