Internet users turned to yoga, fitness and diet websites following the festive season. Hitwise's Wellbeing category increased its share of traffic by 25% over a two-week period. The category claimed a 0.060% share of total visits from Singapore Internet users for the week ending January 7, 2006, up from 0.048% for the week ending December 24, 2005.

True Yoga (
www.trueyoga.com.sg) remained the top site in the category, followed by Kids Health (www.kidshealth.org). True Yoga held a commanding 10.90% share of visits for the week ending January 7, and Kids Health claimed 5.57%.

Hitwise Industry Clickstream figures show that Search Engines and Directories sites delivered 33.4% of traffic to the category. Hitwise Search Intelligence data ranks the Top 10 search terms resulting in traffic to the Wellbeing category during the 24 weeks ending January 7, 2006 as:



The top search terms indicate a strong brand recognition for 'planet fitness' and 'fitness first'. For the week ending January 7, Planet Fitness (www.planetfitness.com.sg) ranked 7th in Wellbeing with a 2.93% market share, while Fitness First - Singapore (www.fitnessfirst.com.sg) ranked 9th with 2.56%. Both fitness chain websites offer email newsletters and Hitwise Industry Clickstream figures reflect that 11.9% traffic to the Welbeing category comes from Email Services websites.

For the week ending January 7, local Singapore websites held a 24.8% share of traffic in the Wellbeing category. The average session duration for Wellbeing websites overall that week was 5 minutes and 20 seconds.

Perhaps looking to fulfill their resolutions of finding a better job, Singaporean job-seekers have made a promising start to the New Year: seeking online assistance from Monster Singapore's Online Interview Centre (interview.monster.com.sg).

The Monster site provides a wealth of advice on acing interviews with style, as well as offering a range of 'Virtual Interviews' for jobs in various fields. The site's resources have proved phenomenally popular during the first two weeks of January as Singapore has started back at work after the holiday season. Jumping from #284 for the week ending December 31 to #95 in the Employment & Training category for the week ending January 14, the site has reached its highest employment sector ranking in over a year.

The post holiday job-hunting frenzy can also be witnessed in the increased market share enjoyed by the employment sector as a whole, which has been boosted by 12% since the end of December. Last year, January and March proved the strongest months for the online employment sector. Other fast-moving Employment sites this month include Korn/Ferry International (www.kornferry.com) and Rockport (www.rockportinstitute.com) which have jumped 96 and 42 places respectively for the week ending January 14 as compared to the week before.
