Southeast Asian Games
Hitwise Search IntelligenceTM indicates that Singapore interest in the 24th Southeast Asian Games being held in Thailand between 6 December and 15 December 2007 is top-of-mind; 'sea games 2007' was the fastest moving search term to the Sports industry for the week ending 8 December 2007. Hitwise also measured a surge of 9% in visits to the Sports industry comparing weeks ending 1 December and 8 December 2007.

The official Sea Games website (www.2007seagames.com) debuted at a rank of 52 in the Sports industry for the week ending 1 December 2007, and jumped to 26 the following week. Team Singapore (www.teamsingapore.com.sg), a national website dedicated to the athletes representing Singapore at the SEA Games, ranked at 38 for the week ending 8 December 2007 and received the most website traffic from Yahoo! Singapore Search with 13.74%.

News & Media websites were the 6th most important source of traffic to the 2007 Sea Games website, contributing 7.12% of traffic for the week ending 8 December 2007. Channel News Asia was the leading News & Media website driving traffic with 2.14% share, followed by Yahoo! Singapore News with 1.42% share and Philippine Star with 0.71% of traffic for the week ending 8 December 2007. Yahoo! Singapore News was the leading News & Media website to receive traffic on the term 'sea games 2007', with 8.94% of traffic.

TourismThailand.org appeared amongst the top 15 downstream websites visited after the Sea Games 2007 website. The 2007 SEA Games appear to have generated interest in Thailand as a tourist destination; Hitwise measured an increase of 92% in search variations on 'thailand' comparing weeks ending 17 November 2007 and 8 December 2007, with leading variations including 'thailand map', 'thailand tourism' and 'thailand hotels'.

The following report lists the most popular terms typed into a search engine over the 24 weeks ending 08/12/2007 that resulted in traffic to websites classified by Hitwise within the 'Shopping and Classifieds - Flowers and Gifts' industry. For example, the most popular search term was 'noel' representing 1.71% of all search terms that delivered users to websites classified by Hitwise in the 'Shopping and Classifieds - Flowers and Gifts' industry.

Audio House - www.audiohouse.com.sg
Audio House (www.audiohouse.com.sg), an online store specialising in audio-visual electronics, increased its market share of visits by over 300% to hold 2.53% of market share amongst Appliances and Electronics websites during the week ending 24/11/2007. This peak in traffic placed Audio House as the 4th most popular website in the Appliances and Electronics industry, and represented AudioHouse's largest market share percentage for 2007, despite a similar peak in May (week ending 12/5/2007) when the market share of visits increased by 311%.

Search Engines directed much of the traffic to the Audio House website, with Google Singapore (21.35%), Yahoo! Singapore Search (10.11%), Google (5.62%) and Yahoo! (1.12%) among the top 5 upstream websites, as of the week ending 24/11/2007. After visiting Audio House, Internet users went on to visit the product websites of items found at Audio House, with Panasonic Singapore - www.panasonic.com.sg (11.25%), Fuji Film USA - www.fujifilm.com (7.50%) and Canon South & Southeast Asia - www.canon-asia.com (7.50%) making up the top 3.
