| U.S. Visits to YouTube Increased 32 Percent Year-over-Year |
Hitwise announced that for the month of March 2008, YouTube accounted for 73.18 percent of all U.S. visits among a custom category of 68 online video websites. MySpaceTV received the second highest percentage of visits with 9.21 percent followed by Google Video with 4.06 percent.
The Online Video category accounted for 1.09 percent of all U.S. Internet visits in March 2008, a decline of 7 percent compared to March 2007. Despite the decrease in U.S. visits, the amount of time spent on the websites increased 7 percent for the week ending April 5, 2008. Hulu.com, which came out of beta the week ending March 15, 2008, was the 22nd most visited website in the category for March 2008 receiving .22 percent of visits to the category.

The most popular search terms driving traffic to Paramount Parks were 'kings domain' and 'carowinds'. The majority of visitors to the website were female (56%) and aged 35-44 (38%). The MOSAIC USA Type with the highest representation of visitors to the website was 'Prime Middle America' - consisting of predominantly white, dual-income households that hold well-paying blue-collar and white-collar jobs in transportation, manufacturing and public administration. They enjoy leisure activities like playing cards and board games as well as outdoor pursuits such as fishing, biking and swimming at a lake. They're traditionalists who enjoy reading established magazines such as Woman's World, Field & Stream and Parents.

| Coachella Traffic Turning to Ticketmaster as Festival Draws Near |

On Wednesday, everyone that is heading out to the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in two weeks received the news of a surprise addition to the line-up - Prince. Coachella is always surrounded by rumors about the line-up and potential to almost impossible reunions, such as The Smiths, before the official announcements are made in January. Every year, fans debate and dispel rumors regarding which bands & artists will play the festival out in Indio, CA on blogs, message boards, and MySpace. The promoters also always fuel the fire by waiting to add a big name or two in the weeks leading up to the event. I figured that the Prince announcement, which is fairly big news for the show, might drive a large spike in traffic to the official Coachella website, but the biggest jump still happens during the initial announcement for the majority of the lineup. The news has been covered by many blogs & news outlets, so that may have been enough confirmation for many planning or contemplating attending.
