NBC.com Most Visited Broadcast Network Website For March 2007

American Idol Most Searched For Television Show

NEW YORK, NY - April 4, 2007 - Hitwise, the leading online competitive intelligence service, reports that NBC.com received the largest market share of visits for the month of March 2007 among a custom category of the six major broadcast television network websites. In that period, NBC.com claimed 37 percent of visits among the six broadcast network websites, and visits to NBC.com were up 10 percent compared to February 2007.

ABC.com received the second largest percentage of visits capturing 30.28 percent of traffic followed by CBS.com with 16.82 percent and FOX with 8.3 percent. The CW network received 7.03 percent of visits with MyNetworkTV receiving 0.26 percent of traffic for March 2007.

"According to the Hitwise search term data for March, reality television shows benefited the most from the original scripted shows being in reruns after the February sweeps," said Bill Tancer, General Manager of Research for Hitwise. "As the season finales approach for both reality and original shows, it will be interesting to see which shows receive the majority of online searches."

AMERICAN IDOL TOPS TV SHOW SEARCHES IN MARCH
According to Hitwise Search Intelligence, Fox's 'American Idol' was the most searched-for television show overall in primetime for the four weeks ending March 31, 2007. Other top searched for primetime shows included NBC's 'Deal or No Deal', ABC's 'Dancing With the Stars' and 'LOST' and The CW's 'America's Next Top Model'.
