Google Sets New High - 66 Percent of U.S. Searches in December 2007

Seven percent increase over last year; Averaged 64 percent market share for 2007

NEW YORK, NY - January 8, 2008 - Hitwise, the leading online competitive intelligence service, today announced that Google accounted for 65.98 percent of all U.S. searches in the four weeks ending December 29, 2007. Yahoo! Search, MSN Search and Ask.com each received 20.88, 7.04 and 4.14 percent respectively. The remaining 49 search engines in the Hitwise Search Engine Analysis Tool accounted for 1.71 percent of U.S. searches.

Google an Increasing Source of Traffic to Key Industries
Search engines continue to be the primary way Internet users navigate to key industry categories. Comparing December 2007 to December 2006, the Travel, Entertainment, Business and Finance and Sports categories showed double digit increases in their share of traffic coming directly from search engines.
