Key Findings:
- Christmas 2011 was the biggest ever for online retail. In December there were 2.18 billion UK visits to online retail websites, accounting for 11.5% of all online traffic.
- Visits to online retailers were up 4.8% year-on-year in Christmas 2011 with 100 million more visits to retail websites than in December 2010.
- 343 million hours were spent shopping online in the UK during Christmas 2011 but average visit time dropped 41 seconds to 9 minutes and 26 seconds.
