Richard Crane has been actively involved with programming, systems architecture and technical research and development since 1993, after completing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Technology at Victoria University.
Richard began his career as a computer games programmer, working in the Research and Development Department for Beam Software (now Atari Melbourne House), Australia's then largest software and multimedia developer. In this capacity, Richard was the lead programmer for a number of innovative multimedia software products. During his 6 years with Beam, Richard created and managed the technical resources for the www.hotgames.com website, as well as all other Internet systems for the Beam Group of Companies.
In early 1998, Richard joined Hitwise, and now leads the technical development and operational infrastructure for the Hitwise Online Competitive Intelligence Service. In this capacity, he provides strategic direction into systems and architecture for all technical requirements, and manages the Hitwise Global IT Support Division.
