Last week, which included Cyber Monday, there was little movement among the top holiday products. We did see Google Home and Google Home Mini move up the ranks a bit since the week of Thanksgiving, thanks to ongoing deals for the smart speaker offered from Peak Week through the end of December. Xenoblade Chronicles 2, a Nintendo Switch game that released last week, shot up over 130 rank positions to join the top 10.
Outside of the top 10, we saw Yankee Candle, Pandora Jewelry and My Pillow trending up. We also saw searches for Ugly Christmas Sweater and Elf On the Shelf moving higher on the list. Interestingly, searches for Elf on the Shelf have historically made it into the top 10 during the week after Thanksgiving, when the elves typically make their return to spy on America’s children. However, last week they only reached number 33, suggesting that the desire for new elves is lower this year than in the recent past.
Among the top toys, we saw more classics joining the list, which is something that usually happens as consumers realize the season’s hottest products may actually be out of reach for them, so they pivot to tried and true toys like Calico Critters, Baby Alive and LEGO. Further down the list, we also saw Easy Bake Oven and Paw Patrol toys trending up week over week.
